How do you send in your old NGC labels from coins you've cracked out of slabs? I'd like to send one in so they can have an accurate population count. I remember seeing info on their site years ago but can't find anything now. Can anyone help? Do you physically have to send the label in or is there a way it can be done electronically? Thanks.
If you are a member, I believe this still applies: https://www.ngccoin.com/news/article/4438/label-buyback-program-/ If not a member, you'd likely still just have to mail them in an envelope (but there would be no 50 cent credit).
Sad. So sad, because no one actually does it........shoveling dung against the tide. Crack outs and re-submissions with no regard for current grade. Only the hope of upgrade and current statistics be hanged. Greed and largess........
I think few do it because the incentive is not there. I've cracked some slabs, but it's not worth it to send the labels (especially since I'm not a member). Plus the coins I have cracked were details holders that I am putting in my type set dansco (so no real worry about populations). For those that crack high value coins, it may be worth it to send the labels back so that the value of their coins aren't lowered due to a seemingly large population.
I just asked NGC about this on the NGC forums. You can see when they answer here: https://www.ngccoin.com/boards/topic/412515-ngc-label-buyback/
It is a moderated post, so they have to see it, answer it, and approve it before it shows up. Check back on Monday.
