My friend wants to sell his coin collection, for what reason I have no clue, guess he needs the money, I would defently buy it if i had the money, Anyways he wants me to put it on ebay, Which is the best way Parting it out or selling it as a whole?

It ranges from Morgans and peace's to proof sets to 300AD roman coins he got off ebay for like 20 bucks lol.

    Any advice is appretaited.

Why not give the state and city you're in? Maybe someone here would do the valuation and buy the whole load?

Parting it out will bring the most money and is the most time-consuming. How many coins are we talking about here?

Ahhh ok. Well to get the most money, sell them individually. Or get a price he wants for each and try selling them here on the boards. Then whatever doesn't sell here you can put up on ebay. Would save him some fees.

Theres only one guy on here that in know of that lives near me, actually works like 2 blocks from my house lol, Dallas texas!

And yeah thats a good idea to part it out, Lots of time doing that tho, but also with ebay, most people wont bid if you start for say a morgan dollar of at 20 or 30 dollars, but if start it out at 99 with no reserve that could be bad.

Now a days silver is so high, people will bid $20 opening on a Morgan. :) Melt is higher.

I have a friend in NC that needed to do the same thing your doing. He took it to a local auction and did real well. I believe they charge 10 to 20 % but he did ok. Doing auctions always depend on the crowd.

How about cosigning to an auction house?

Not really alot of time if you make a post in the Auction listings. List each coin and the price the owner wants for it. List how you want to be paid. How much shipping is.
All this can be done in 1 post. And there are no fees to ebay. Ebay can be a crap shoot on what the final price will be.
