I mainly collect Proof and Mint sets, but I also have the usual albums for each denomination and I fill these albums by breaking up Mint sets each year. However, the President dollars present me with a dilemma; that is damaging the edge lettering stuffing the coin in an album. But I'd still like something in a book form, nicer to page through a book. Any suggestions on what would be appropriate, it will just consist of P&D UNC's. Thanks, Douglas
Why not try 2-1/2 x 2-1/2s in 12-pocket vinyl notebook pages. Their extra size should leave the edges visible.
There are supposed to be some albums coming out this year that allow the viewing of the edge of the dollar coins. I susbect they may be easier on the edges.
Yea, I've thought about this too... What about putting them in Airtites, then putting the Airtites in albums made for them??? Then you or friends could pick up the album, flip thought the collection and pop one out, inspecting the edge and never worry about damage to the coin... I'm sure this solution will not be 100% perfect, but Its the best I can come up with... That or encase a few in a small cube/block of a clear resin... My dad did that with a few coins Silver dollars, years ago... I like the Airtite idea better though.... Something else, I forgot about, When the proofs come out, the lens/case they are in, supposedly lets you view all sides/edges... I'm pretty sure they make a cute little stand for sitting that on for display...
