Just a general question, I recently signed up for a one month subscription of numismaster and found on occasional pages some coins actually priced below their melt values (but then again melt vaues have changed a lot in the last few months)... I think some people here might have used numismaster since it first came up, does anyone know how often entires get updated? Are there some entires that hardly get updated at all?
This is what they say on the web site - "PRICE GUIDES Based on 50-plus years of Krause Publications data and updated daily by a team of experts, ....." But I wouldn't expect them to try and keep up with values based on spot price.
But when they print a magazine (COINS) for "April 2008", you'd think that they'd at least update the bullion prices to current February values
Try to remember that any large publication takes time to accumulate and print. The more detailed information any document contains means more time to assemble this information. Books such as the Red Book may take months to accumulate the necessary information required. This is also why so many daily newspapers make some major errors. Just lack of time to assemble everything in a short time allowed.
