How often do you interact with your ancients?

Just wondering how often you folks look at, hold and study your coins?

For me right now I'd say 4 to 5 times per week.

Not nearly enough. Once every couple of months maybe?
Though the Alexander the Great Babylon minted tet that is on its way to me will be spending the first few nights under my pillow.

A couple of times a week, largely thanks to this board.

I always have some coins close at hand and try to spend at least an hour every evening with my "work in progress" box. Talk about an exciting night life, eh :D.

Old coins also get pulled out for photography, rephotography, study, or for just for some random in-hand time. Photographs are great, but nothing beats in-hand.

I look at pictures daily. In person, only periodically due to them needing to be stored at the bank for safety although I keep a couple at home to "play" with on my desk. I need to start carrying around a pocket piece as has been discussed in a few threads!

Not nearly enough. My catalog and images mostly. But once in a while, I get out my collection and marvel.

I don't keep my collection with me - just recent purchases and coins I'm currently researching, which I handle once a day or so.

I'm slowly coming to terms with the likelihood a safety deposit box. But I do examine a coin every couple days.

I can only imagine what your pocket piece would be! I'm certain it would be fantastic and hopefully you would post it here.

Three or Four times a week I'll take out my coins and work on attributions. That's since I joined the forum on April 28 (thanks Google!). Before that, it was more like pulling the coins out every three months. I still have hundreds of coins to attribute since over the past three years I've purchased several hoards of unidentified coins. Kind of like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get.

I very much agree... however, the alternative thoughts always haunted me. I succumbed to the safety deposit box, despite the protection, safe, etc. that I have. Too much at stake, too much that I love within the collection. Some albums will be nearby as they are lower-cost and are cool items for casual showing to family, friends, etc. That helps me a lot!

I'm just back from depositing recent newps in the safe deposit so all I have out are a half dozen that I decided need to be rephotographed. They will get touched daily or so until I give up or get my image. Hopefully a new coin will arrive today or tomorrow. New toys need playing and photographing. Having photos of every coin means I don't need to touch most very often but there are always some begging to be reshot.

I find I'm in the same boat, but I feel so bad not having them out to hold everyday because that is one of the reasons, albeit minor, I decided to give up on moderns and collect Ancients solely. These coins should be touched and held lovingly everyday.

LOL, yeah, I have over 1,000 that need photos re-shot. I admit that I do not have the skill or patience... Forgive my poor or borrowed photos.

LOL, and YES, I DO read all the photo hints! :)
