especially if you don't know much about their value? I bought I key ring full of old coins at a flea market in Japan today, about $15 for the lot- about 24 coins, round, square holes, really old.
You would need to remove them from the key ring, and photograph each one individually, both sides for anyone to give their opinion on them.
Well, I mean, in general, would you be willing to part with $15 on a big pile of unknown coins that looked interesting and ancient, if you didn't know much about them? Here are a few pics, though. I don't want to make anyone go through front-and-back pictures of 28 coins.
I haven't been to a Japanese flea market in quite a few years, but at the last one I saw at least 10 "replicas" for every genuine coin.
Looks like mainly common Ching issues, (Chinese), that used to sell for around $25 per string, (100). But, if there is one good one in there it could be a great buy. If you like these, I highly recommend Cast Chinese Coinage by Hartill. Best English language book for Chinese cash coins. I know Scott Semans and Frank Robinson carry it, and there should be others as well.
