It's a nice coin with prominent doubling. In whose opinion is it undergraded, and why did the TPG undergrade it? 1878-S is an under-$100 coin in MS64, it's not a rare variety, this one has been judged unoriginal, and even if I wanted it (I wouldn't) I would not go over $40 for it. Quite frankly, I wouldn't be considering it in the first place.
I don't see any photos, but there are a lot of VAM's that are overpriced. Specialty attributions like Top 100, Hot 50, Hit List 40, etc. for some of them have little meaning. Chris
Hey thanks for y'all's input. I actually bought it and it's my first coin in my very first collection I bought it for $49. I'm sure I'll be more savvy as I do a little more research and listen to all yall these forums. I appreciate it
