They were about $2 each back in the 1970s when you could buy bundles of them wholesale. Nowadays they have gone up to about $15 to $25, with some signature varieties a bit rarer. The russian revolution led to huge numbers of these becoming worthless almost overnight, and many were in the hands of overseas banks who eventually sold them off for what they could get for really fancy waste paper.
Here is one on UK ebay, same signature variety, same condition. They can be had cheaper but this is typical. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Russia-500-rubles-dated-1912-uncirculated-/272272943525
I bought hundreds of them for a £1 each, they were found in a safe with the original banking documents, some Unc some circulated some just good. I had many that were consecutive serial numbers. They sold for between £5 and £20 each. I have two Unc consecutives left for my own collection.
Somewhere around here I have a bundle of 100 1898 1 rouble notes in original bank wrapper from about 1910. Many refugees brought out Imperial Russian paper money. Clearly there were some even in 1922 willing to take a punt on the restoration of the Romanovs. Mr. Kolotoff for one.
