Hi there, I dont know anything about coins but i was given this 1886 melbourne st george reverse soverign for my birthday.. and was wondering how muc it would be worth, it is in nearlt perfect condition, only 1 or 2 tiny tiny scratches... if you have any idea that would be great!!!
Hi, by my book ( Renniks 43rd ed) these are the values VF = melt value EF - $275 aUnc - $450 Unc - $1,250 But if you could post pics that would be great so we could try and tell u the grade Regards, Rado PS: WELCOME TO THE FORUM!
Also for these types of coins to be worth the big $$$ you will need a really good one higher than UnCirculated grade because buyers mainly look for the ChUnc and Gem. There is just so many minted from that year and they are mainly in UNC and higher grades everything else is melt value imho.
