Thanks for posting the star dates - I sure couldn't read them on your pictures. Both coins were minted in Madrid, and the mintmaster initials match those listed in the 3rd Ed. 19th Century Krause. For some reason Krause only identifies the mintmaster initials for the Barcelona, Seville and Valencia mints, and not Madrid. I don't have the new 4th Ed., but I don't believe there was much change in valuations from the 3rd. The 1870(74) 2 Pesetas (10g of .835 silver - .2685 oz. ASW) is listed at $5 F, $9 VF, $40 XF and $200 Unc. The 1870(70) 5 Pesetas (25 g. of .900 silver - .7234 oz. ASW) is listed at $10 F, $20 VF, $175 XF and $450 Unc. Both of your coins have so much eye appeal that my first reaction was XF or better, but a closer look shows a great deal of wear. With those sharp legends, I would still give them VF. Neither one shows any obvious signs of cleaning.
