How Many Morgans To Go ??

If you collect Morgan Dollars, how many do you have to go yet to complete a set ?
I'm not counting VAMs right now.
I'm just counting dates & mintmarks.

So, how far are you ?


I have something like 50 to go.

Let's just say there are quite a few more holes than filled holes in my set. I'm working on it though...slowly but steadily it's growing and upgrading.

 

i have 3 a 21-p, 21-d and an 88-p so i pretty much need the rest lol. so 95 more to go

 

my type set is unfortunately complete my peace type set will also be complete soon. I wish I could get a 1964 peace

While I never would consider or be able to afford a complete set, I have made sub-sets goals and only buy what I like.

For instance, a DMPL from each mint is a neat set, or a rainbow from each mint, etc.

Being a Lincoln guy, I sure do appreciate a beauty Morgan when I see em and try to jump on the real eye catchers if I can.

 

still working on my date/mint set of morgans. i am in my 3rd yr and have just purchased my 39th coin. that leaves 54 or so to go. should get it finsihed in another 10 yrs or so( not including the 1895)....steve

 

I voted 100 Plus. Because I feel you can never have enough morgans even doubles, triples and so on of any date. Morgans are going to get even more interesting i feel in the coming years becuase of types & VAMs. You could grabe roll of 20 same date morgan and find 20 different types & VAMs. I never really focused on a full collection by date with the morgans. Although if i had the money to own a full set with every date and mint from 1878 to 1921 that would bea rather impressive thing to show off. I picked up a Morgan yesterday that i already have 5 of now 6. lol 1883 awsome tone about MS62 63 grade Reason I bought it? 25 bucks.

lets see over several years of casual collection, never searching for a complete set, I have 36 different dates, most of them common, but all of them loved

 

I'll never complete the set. I never complete any set. I just buy them as I find them when I like them regardless of whether I already have one or not.

I'm the same way.
I can't turn down a good deal on a Morgan.
I have 3 1891-CC's.
There are several date/mm that I have 5-6 of.

 

Er I only have 2 lol... I collect by type, not by series usually... I like Morgans but would rather concentrate on getting several different coin types than a bunch of coins that only differ from one another by their date and mintmark. Just my preference. That being said there are times when a nice coin catches my eye and I'll buy it on impulse despite already having that coin type (is how I got the 2nd morgan lol... it was more circulated than my first but in an interesting way that just made me want it for some reason).

 

Well, lets see - I have 2 Morgans. So how many do I still need?
