    ARLroxta,

Most people probably are not going to tell you either because they don't want others to know or because they do not know themselves. Even as a beginner collector I have hundreds - most not worth much. My co-workers from Belgium litterally brought me two bags of coins from all over the world - plopped them on my desk this morning and wanted nothing for them. It's going to take me a couple days just to sort them all. I already know that the value on them is minimal but it will be fun to go through them and see what I have. Already have found four with ships on them. :D

    Good luck with your collection!

Yeah, like he said, there are some people who don't want to share any details of their collection, and I don't blame them. This is a question I've seen a few times here though, and I know that some people aren't shy. I for one have no problem telling you that I have hundreds of coins, more than I'd like to count. Most of them are common coins though, many of them only worth face value. And, as always, just in case any bad guys are reading this, I'll tell you my good coins are in the bank. So, rob the bank, not my house!

As someone once said---more coins than some collectors and less than others.
As another person said---my coin fits in a nicely sized box that is within rifle range :D :D :D

Well, if you count all the change I have, I would have to say somewhere between 30 and 40 thousand coins and some notes, but most of it's just regular change saved for vacation or whatever.

So many are just not interested in how many coins they really have. Others know it is of no importance. Many don't have time to count them, don't want to spend time counting them, will never waste time wooring about the amount, just the value. If you have 100,000 coins and they are worth only a few dollars it would be better to have put them in a bank for interest. Myself, I used to have thousands and thousands of miscellaneous coins. I gave several thousand to YN's ( Young Numismatics). I ended up taking hundreds and hundreds to a bank due to the worthlessness of them. That was the stupid Bicentennial Quarters. The intent of this was to institute a policy of maintaining a valuable collection, not a monstrous one.
