How long did it take you to find the "Key Coin(s)" in your set?

Looking for the right 1934-S and 1928 Peace dollars for my collection. I'm looking for at least MS-63 with good eye appeal (and strike!).

This little hint of mine got me wondering...How long did it take you to find the key(s) to your set... or are you still looking? :)

Make sure to let us know the set you are working on!

1863-1872 3 cent silvers in XF. I have three. Still looking for the other seven - and to win the lottery to afford them.

I have a 1928 MS63 for my Peace date set but the 1934 S remains way out there. Way, way out there.

3 years to get the 1925 Australian Penny. They're out there but at too high of a price.

It took me about 6 years to build a complete set of Peace Dollars. I think this was the next to the last one I purchased. And yes, as @Santinidollar said, she was WAY out there.

Each new error becomes anothey "key". They are all key coins to me.

Not nearly as long as it took to find the money to pay for it. Most U.S. "keys" are actually fairly common--merely expensive.

And that is the key ! Finding the key coins is way beyond easy. You can buy 10 of every one of them every day. Being able to afford them is the only difficult part.
