Simplycoins seems to have a number of silver coins that have a nearly identical tone. I realize that the grades are +3 - +5, but it seems that most of the silver coins are toned identically. How is he doing this? http://cgi.ebay.com/1818-Capped-Bus...ryZ11963QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/1824-Capped-Bus...hZ014QQcategoryZ11969QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/1829-Capped-Bus...hZ014QQcategoryZ11969QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem
Quite frankly, those coins don't look to me to be similarly toned. They do seem to have been taken with similar photographic technique and suspect this is why they look similar to you. That said, there are many ways to tone silver. Exposure to heat, humidity, and sulfur (either through the air or other more nefarious methods) will tone silver. So will time. In short, I see nothing to suggest that this seller is toning anything himself...Mike
Easy, he boils them in a concoction of water, salt, cider viniger, and a few pennies. Lol, i know its a wierd combanation, but my friend tried it one time, and the silver came out exaclty like this.
I'll agree with leadfoot on those, but here is something really ugly If you look deep, you'll see some of those feedbacks are from the same sellers with those wacko morgans that every single coin looks identical toning http://cgi.ebay.com/Coin-Toner-Use-...ryZ41091QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
