How do you Grade Worn Plating?

If there's a coin that's been plated with say, gold, and all of the details are there and there are no other problems with this otherwise immaculate coin, would the coin be graded as if the worn plating = high points worn down = AU?

I have a token that I just posted about with worn gold plating (though it has other issues) - it's the 1932 Peru 10 Soles coin. The edge also appears to have the gold worn down to reveal the silver underneath, which has since tarnished considerably.

    Thanks in advance!

Assuming the plating was applied by the mint or company who made them, you'd grade it the same way you would any coin. Wear is wear, regardless of cause. And any other problems or issues would apply to tokens just like they do to coins.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

I would imagine it would be graded just like any other wear. The plating is so thin that any circulation will start to remove it.

It's odd that a plated coin would be circulated....

I'd probably grade it EF/AU, and Krause says it's worth around $40 - 50 in that grade.

I agree that it would grade EF-AU. Composition is silver gilt, so the plating was done at the mint. If the plating were done elsewhere, it would be considered a damaged coin.
