I recently obtained the following...1778cc thru 1885cc, 1890cc,1891cc. All are in the "GSA" holders and I also have the boxes along with the printed cards with numbers. My problem is that the holders, boxes and cards were mixed up when I got them. Is there a site I can go to that can confirm the "numbered" cards to the coins ? I think I got a fairly good deal as the purchase price was a little over $2,700.00 for all.... But I have no idea as to whcih coins get which card.... Thanks !!
The cards are numbered like 82 458965 and 85 665824, the first two numbers of the card indicates the year so 82 458965 would be for an 1882
Thank You ! Thank you so much ! That was so simple, that I would have never figured that out, best regards, Ron:thumb:
Can you suggest if I should get them graded ? and if so, which grading company, I have read some of the other posts, P.C.G.S., A.N.A.C.s and N.G.C. but the expense to do so is something that I have to consider also.....
There is this 90 year old friend I have and his wife passed away, he collected coins from Frankluin Mint,..He basically told me he tried to sell the "cc's" back to Franklin mint and they offered him $10,000 for all of the coins he had purchased thru them, and he had shown me a reciept where he had paid $11,000 for the 1879 cc alone (later on) and that "ticked" him off .... He has a stepson that I guess had stolen some of the coins from him and he was NOT going to leave him any more than he had to, so he offered them to me for the $2700. as he knew that was all I could afford and knew that I would hang onto them as I am as stated a fairly avid collector, I really enjoy collecting the coins and try to learn about them and do NOT sell them.
