I thought it was only silver if it was from the San Fransisco mint?
    Why so much?

Still, not worth $140... maybe $6 dollars if it is 40% silver...

Zero feedback. Brand new seller so she probably does is not familiar with all the subcategories. She describes the Ike Bicentennial dollar as "Dated 1776 - 1976". Since she couldn't find a category for coins dated 1776 under US Coins she picked one that was reasonably close. She may really think the coin was minted in 1776. Who knows?

I doubt she will get any bids starting the auction at $140, especially with that blurry photo.

I don't think she is trying to pull anything over on anyone. I think she simply does not know anything about coins or eBay.

I think it's "common" practice to call Ikes Silver Dollars - I know that everyone in my family would say they have a Silver Dollar if they were talking about an Ike.

So I wouldn't hold that against her.

Yes, that is what i meant to say. About 2 years ago (when i did not know a thing about coins), i got a bicentennial quarter, and thought it was worth at least a 100 dollars... lol

I liken that listing to the 1980/90's single penny posts in India (elsewhere's too) and I never realized just how rare my pocket change was until I surfed Ebay.

If she's hurting for money, she can post this in Ebay India, label it as "Ultra Rare" and she'll probably sell it or at least be able to trade it for some good hammered coins that will sell then she can take the money from selling the hammered coins, get some Jack & Coke, and get hammered herself (if she isn't already)! :hammer:

Anyone notice the labeled 2x2 in the picture? The coin has met a collector sometime in its short lived life

Maybe someone should tell her to send it off to SGS and get it graded PR-70 and then she can get the $140.00 for it. :mouth:

Well, that does not look like MS70, I think I see some spots or scratches...(she labeled it circulated)

I sent her an e-mail trying to tactfully explain why she wouldn't get any bids. She's from the same area I'm from- so I figured I should try to keep her from wasting anymore money posting hopeless auctions. So.... she'll get ****ed off because I told her the truth or some idiot will pay her $140 dollars for it and she'll think I'm an idiot. Either way my work here is done.

That wasn't the point I was making. What I was joking about is how some grading services are overgrading coins and I just picked on SGS since they are notorious for doing it.

BTW - I said PR-70 not MS-70. It's clearly not MS-70 so PR-70 is out of the question but I've seen similar coins graded way beyond the coin's actual grade.
