I have my airline tickets already and a reserved room at Best Western Bay Harbor. I can cancel the room up to 24 hours before arrival so I am now looking to see if there is a better room option. Anyone with recommendations? My reservation rate is at $135 a night for five nights. Quite a few amenities on site but it is about 5 miles from the convention center.
Oh snap! Forgot all about that. I need to get on it, already missed the summer fun show and the Whitman show this year.
There are some good deals currently on airfares to Tampa and last year several of the hotels offered by the convention were sold out by October. I looked at the convention list of hotels and most are $159.00 and up, and if I am not mistaken, that does not include the 10% for taxes and fees. The Bay Harbor price as them figured in.
I usually just drive up there so that I have my car with me. It's not a short ride, but I stop along the way and visit some buddies.
5 miles? Yikes! There are hotels within walking distance. You can save the daily parking fee, too. Go to the FUN website and see if they have any listings yet. It's still a little early. If they don't, just Google the hotels close to the Convention Center. Chris
Have they even announced what hall the show will be in next year ? I mean the two they have used that last 4 years or so are 2 or 3 miles apart as it is. So that'll make a difference. Sure you can use the pedi-cabs or a taxi, but that would soon eat up any room savings I would think. So what Chris is saying would be wise, assuming you know what hall they are going to use.
