Can you tell which boxes of coins are hot before you even open them? If you search 2 or more boxes at a time let me know if this happens to you.

I searched 3 boxes of halves (3,000 coins) and did not find 1 silver half. I was starting to worry. I had 4 boxes total and was going to start on my last one. Before I did, I looked at the empty boxes I had already looked through. When i looked at the boxes They all had the number 4940 on it. When I looked at the last box it had the number 5806 on it. When I opened the box I found 2 Franklin's, 1 90% Kennedy, and 5 40 percent Kennedy's. This is probably one of the hottest boxes I have ever searched totaling around $50 in silver. I wish I had another 5806 box to see if that would be hot too.

So what I am getting at is next time you look through halves and it has numbers on it test this theory if you are having a cold or hot streak to see if the box numbers are the same or different.

What might the numbers mean? Possibly shelf numbers or a code to tell what date or time they arrived and where boxed at.

Please let me hear your thoughts on the box numbers!!!!!

I have noticed that most boxes are skunks and maybe one or two have a decent amount in them. This total when spread over the skunks makes the CRHing fun and somewhat worth my time.

If I see silver showing I like to believe I know that's going to be a good box.

I found one 67 halve in a box with number 3539 stamped on the bottom. Two other boxes ahve no stamping or any notations to a box number on it.
