I just went through 2 boxes of halves. I found (1) 90% and (5) 40%. Not too exciting. But I did fill two holes: A 1972 S which brings my total proof halves to 10! (plus about 4 dups) And, even though its only 7 days old, my best find in 2007 - a 1987 P!!! Once I find that 1987D I will have all of the P's and D's from 1964 - 2002. I'm putting together a set of Halves that only come from circulation. In my very first box that I searched I found three Franklins. Two years and $15,000 later I havn't seen one since. Maybe in the next $15,000 I can finish the Kennedys and find a few more Franklins.
Sounds like my luck, my first $500. box had two Franklins, 10- 64 and about 15-40% and a 96s proof. Second box os $500. there was nothing, third box 6-64's and 4-40%. So I got 2 boxes of $500. for this weekend and after searching $1000.00 dollars of halfs, I found nothing, I glad it rained, thats a pretty good job to search and re roll. Guess I will go back to the trusty nickel rolls and put the bill money back in the bank.
Good luck and keep searching. Last week I got a 1948 Franklin in AU from about $80 in 1/2's. Plus some others.
