At some point someone with very sweaty mits had their nasty fingers on this one. Can anyone recommend a means for removing the offensive prints? I've been playing with some of the features of the Nikon. I hope the white balance is improving. Thanks for any consideration...

Fingerprints, if left on a coin for more than a very short time, become etched into the metal of the coin. They are there forever.

So do I lose more value leaving it untouched or trying something to remove the print?

Untouched would be best. Cleaning is left to profesional , maybe if you send a PM to TOMCORONA , he might be able to help you.

PS: Don't send him a PM

Grinding wheel will take them right off. (along with everything else.)

The fingerprints can't be removed at this point, as Doug said.
I'm also thinking there are other problems as well.
The color is not right in my opinion but that could be just the image.
There also looks to be more than just prints going on with the obverse.
The really dark areas look like some kind of crud is stuck to the coin, possibly PVC.

You could always Try NCS but more often than not a coins comes back looking worse than it did going in.
