I dont know the grade, but that large cent has to be like 6 inches across!

    That's pretty. I think it's just_barely_circulated - AU55, maybe a mention of porosity on the reverse.

I'd say XF, possibly AU, though the stars don't all show the detail that I think you'd want to see in an AU. Nice coin!

Well IMO this coin was struck with a late stage die...around the rim you can see the orange peel look....I would say AU58....

I still see what appears to much wear for an AU in the hair by the ear, and a good bit of pitting on the reverse. I'm sticking with XF.

Leadfoot, that is a wonderful coin! I'd love to have it. I'll say AU58.

CTFCGS (Coin Talk Forum Coin Grading Service) has spoken...AU58 it is.
Now let's see the holder so I can break it open for the new grade...:hammer:

I have seen worse graded as AU58 - I didn't agree with the grade. I'd say XF45 for this one.

The coin is graded AU 55. IMHO, it is correctly graded or AU 53 at worst. There is still mint luster hidden in the deepest recesses of Liberty's hair, and the whole coin exhibits a blue/violet tone more evident in hand that in the photos.

The "pitting" or corrosion some of you noted is in fact die erosion.

All in all, it is a very eye-appealing large cent, and one I intend on owning a long time. :)

    Thanks for playing...Mike
