After a few weeks of inactivity, a few new coins arrived this week. Attached below are pictures of one of them. Please guess the grade that PCGS assigned it AND what grade you assign to it. Comments are always welcome:

Im going to say MS 64. notce also the die crack. At the wreaths base very nice common date. I just set one to ICG that looked about the same. this one your showing a a little bit nicer. Can I ask what you paid? If that would be ok?

MS63 BN. Also from 10-11 on the reverse it looks like something on the denticles. Love the die crack and the lower last A of America.

I can't see any wear, distracting carbon spots or hits, I think it looks like a 64 BN.

There may be just the slightest (and I mean slightest) wear just above the ear and slightly left. If so, then an easy 58. If not then I would say 64BN -- nice eye appeal, nice coin!

If you make me commit I would say 58.

Here's a different set of photos with light more directly reflecting off the fields --- the only thing changed was the lighting. This shot shows the color a bit better:

Do these additional pics change your opinion one way of the other?

Nice pics. My opinion did change. The area I thought may have had wear is actually nicely detailed.

    My new grade is MS64BN.

    Nice!

MS64B---I wouldn't doubt that it might have gotten the RB grade but then changed alittle after being slabbed---there seems to be a nice bit of R---just not enought.

Thanks for all the comments and guesses:

Here are my thoughts on the coin (all IMHO):

This coin is clearly on the low end of RB, but high end of the 64 grade. The coin would have probably graded 65 if it were not for a few rim nicks that probably happened during the intial shipment, as the devices are certainly equal to most 65s out there. The graders probably decided to give the coin the benefit of the doubt on RB and were conservative on the 64, or at least that's how I see it.

Take care and thanks again for your comments & guesses...Mike
