Here is an 1884-O which has been graded and certified by NGC. What grade would you give it if you were the grader? This one may surprise you ;)

OK... NGC, "O"-mint (weakly struck), fields look pretty good, a little baggy, reverse is fairly nice.... oh, what the heck: MS-65

MS63...its and O but the marks on the face and in front of the face (If I remember right that is the "hot" area for marks on Morgans.) take away the 64 for me...
The back also shows the week strike on the eagle....

That is a dog-gone-nice coin!...the luster is great.
I'm not sure I would go 65 with the neck looking like it does but the REV is GREAT!

here's the wear i see.. i could probably do a better job if i had the coin in hand. it may just be the light reflecting off the cases.

Wear on the hair above the ear. More evident than the MS-65 one posted. MS-60 tops, I think (guess).

That isn't wear...that is the week strike from a O mint Morgan dollar...you know Julz...I had just read in another post where you said (if I remember right) that O mint Morgan dollars were weekly struck and should be graded knowing that....

As I said above...that is from the week strike of an O Mint Morgan...the hair above the ear is what shows the week strike mostly.
