Family went to Florida for vacation over the New Year holiday. Went metal detecting for the first time ever which is funny because I had lived in Florida for 15 years and never once went. Brought my six year old son with me, he was instantly bored of chasing me around and not finding anything good.

We found one 1982 brown quarter, many-many beer bottle caps (he did find this amusing and laughed at/with me every time I dug one up), 2 beer cans, 1 cigarette box and wrapper. Figured the day was a success as we helped clean the beach, enjoyed the sun, sand, and water. My son was not so happy though as I found no Spanish Gold.

Decided to take him to a bank and buy a roll of half dollars. Opened it and found 3 nice 1966 coins. It is always fun to find silver/collectible coins in circulation.

He was so excited that he has been running around telling everyone we robbed the bank. :D

Just thought I might share our vacation experience with the group. He has the third half that is not pictured but it is just as nice.

Hope everyone had a Great New Year!!!

    Darryl
