I have a few nice old coins including the italian 1911 pictured below, as well as the 1865 half. However mine have holes drilled in them I suspect to wear on a necklace (SHAME!) anyway, does this completely destroy thier value?

Unless the coins are of great rarity, yes.

Generally holed coins have little or no numismatic value but some people collect them. I am close to completing a type set of holed coins in a Dansco 7070. But I paid much less for each coin than a comparable unholed coin.

I will buy holed coins quite often for two reasons LOL 1st they are quite often a lot cheaper (If it is a rare coin) than the normal ones and 2nd I am a bit of a romantic at heart and like to think they were given to a loved one :goof:
But as for value they take a big knock
