I have a couple 2 cent pieces. I found out online that they are 23 mm in dia. However I have a couple large cents from the 1850's. These are 27.5 mm in dia. I want something better than a cheap 2x2 holder. They sell air-tite ring style and direct fit holders, but not in 27.5mm. 27mm would be too small, and 28 would be too big. The next thing is a capital holder, but they are $5. Which is kinda cashy to spend on a coin worth less than $20. Anybody know of a cheaper solution?

Large cents of the 1850's (and 1840s) are consistent in diameter and should fit in the appropriately sized airtites. Earlier coins (i.e. pre-steam press) were not and require a foam ring in order to fit well. I've used airtites (and kontains) for many years with great success in storing my large cents, and would recommend them in a second. Lastly, I believe that Mark identified the correct size (27mm).
