Hey guys as i start to expand my collection ive been really liking the hobo nickles more and more, But i know absalutly nothing about them, Are the regular nickles then people take them and carve them? If so how do you know if they are real, considering its not a mint strike by the us.

I saw some nickles by mrthe is he a famous collector?

If anybody has a website that tells me more about them, it would be greatly appretated.

This link should answer a lot of your questions. There's a lot of pages but you have to hunt for some of them.

Ikan is pointing you in the right direction. The OHNS is a great resource. There are Original Hobo Nickels and Modern Hobo Nickels. You will need to learn how to distinguish between the two.
