IMO, no. You would need pallets full of these, the storage would be troublesome and transportation would be a pain. Selling them for melt is not really an options. I would bet that putting money into a mutual fund that pays dividends you would get much more in return over time. If you are going to collect them that is one thing, hoarding IMO is a waste of time and money.

I started saving pre-1982 cents when copper was high, but soon gave it up. I still have about 1000 copper cents in a bag somewhere.
What really defines a hoard? 5-10K, a couple extras of each year, amassing 500,000+ cents over the past 2 years that you are now trying to figure out how to get back to the bank? And if you only keep the "good" ones is that hoarding or investing? So many questions so little time. Kie
I keep almost all of my cents. Every three or four years I let the grandkids roll them and have a good time with the proceeds. (I never spend a wheatie.)
