Among my father's collection is this very nice item, 27 mm wide, about the weight of a quarter. It has no inscription, and perhaps should be posted in the ancient category ? I'm just not sure. Does this look familiar to anyone ? Thank you !
The reverse is a quadriga, it is a copy of an ancient and really not very good. Can you see all the casting bubbles on the obv? The tooling at the back of the neck? All signs of crude renderings.
That is a very bad fake of a very rare coin. The real deal is a tetradrachm from Syracuse, and they go for a few thousand dollars: https://coins.ha.com/itm/greek/anci.../a/3081-30012.s?ic4=ListView-Thumbnail-071515
