Found this one also and wonder when/where it's from and if it has any value.

Lydia, Persia. AR Siglos. Achaemenid Kings, 485-375 BC.

Obv. Persian king in kneeling stance right with drawn bow and spear.
Rev. Incuse punch with banker's countermark.

I'm not sure what the reverse punch is but I'm guessing the reference is Carradice Type IIIb. Value, as always, is highly subjective. I would pay $75 for it.

Double-click on the link below, for it'll show you many examples (note that there are several tabs at the bottom (enjoy)) ...

=> here is my humble example (sadly, the King's bow is off-flan):

If I recall, there are at least three different types of these Running King coins ... I want to find one where the King is holding a "dagger" (these AR Siglos examples are very cool and extremely old coins)

Today is Day #3 of my 34-day break ... sadly, this'll be the first year in 23 years that I haven't returned home like a spawning salmon to see my dear ol' Dad ... but this summer we're pouring a whole lotta cash into giving our house a face-lift ($30,000-ish), so we decided to lay-low this summer, lick our wounds and then make an attempt to go out again for his 91st birthday, in November ...

=> thanks for askin' (I'm hoping that we'll be able to relax and get re-energized for another year at the ol' nickel minesite)

    Cheers, brother

Well, take it from me little brother, there WILL come a time when you wish your Pop was still around, so visit him as often as you can. I wish I could tell my Pop how sorry I am for having given him such a hard time in my younger years. I look back and think how awful I must have been for him, but he was always a good father no matter what I did. Anyway, just sayin'......

Ooops, let's try to get back to ancient coins ... hmmm, here is another cool coin of mine from the same era (or at least within 100 years) ...

Yup, this baby is amongst the very first coins minted, "ever"

=> Lydia AR Siglos (Lion & Bull, incuse square) => 560-510 B.C. (wow!!)

These are all silver dirhems of the 'Abbasid dynasty. All bear the date and mint name in Kufic script. These are among the easiest of early Islamic coins to read.

Easiest as in less than impossible. These always struck me as funny because they are sold a coins of a certain ruler based on who was in power on the date listed. Is that a bit like us saying my 1800 US cent is a John Adams while my 1806 is a Jefferson?

Where on this coin does it say Harun al Rashid?

The Umayyad and early 'Abbasid coinage generally does not bear the caliph's name, though in some cases you can find the name of his intended successor or of a local magnate. That's why these are often catalog temp. al-Rashid, indicating that, while it was struck during his reign, it does not list him as ruler.
