    It's not unusual to see this when part of the rim is missing, too. Can we see an image of the reverse?

    Do you have two 1966 cents with the L in LIBERTY gone, or just two threads about the same coin?

    On the other picture you can see the L it made into the rim of the penny like the in god part of it

    Result of the master die spreading, continued, and got worse, through 1968. Then in 1969 a new master hub was introduced with the head redesigned, lowered in relief, and the lettering moved in toward the center away from the rim.
