I'd call it F - VF .... $30.00 - $55.00. It's about 1 grade better than the one I have. I'm envious. Bill
jimmiejam I will say this - you really SHOULD move to Florida !! With your luck at finding things - you could retire after the first year
Cool Bill, thanks for the info. I don't have any coin books for world or Canadian coins. Its appreciated. That one was found at an old school site. I love finding silver because depending on the condition of the coins when dropped it will pretty much look the same when I find it. Unless I scratch it. Which I hate doing. Hey GDJMSP. There is luck involved, I'll agree. But I do do research and put myself in places where things like old coins can be found. Seems like everyone in Florida goes after rings. I know thats where the money can be had but I love old coins. They can have there gold diamond rings. Although I wouldn't mind finding some myself now and then. I have found one diamond gold ring that my wife loves. Have a lot of silver rings. Riings smings give me some old coins. Jim
Well Jim - coins are exactly what I had in mind You see, in just 1 hurricane over 33 Spanish galleons loaded to the gills with gold & silver coins went down off the coast of Fla. And that was just during ONE storm Needless to say - over the approximately 2 centuries during which Spain shipped gold & silver coins from the New World back to Spain, there were many, many, many hurricanes and many ships lost - the vast majority of them right off the coast of Fla. And where do you think many of these coins are found every time there is another storm at sea ? You guessed it - right on the beach by guys with metal detectors. While watching pretty girls I might add
Not only did Spanish galleons lose coins in hurricanes....I hate to think of all the coin collections that were damaged or lost in Florida during the most recent hurricanes. I wonder how many retirees kept their stuff at home and lost it.
