Looks like pmd (post mint damage)to me.

 

I was just curious as to the markings around the words on the reverse of the coin

Looks almost toned on the front (but I doubt it) and pretty dirty on the back. What's the post for, it's a pretty common coin?

 

Just thought I got lucky with an unknown error. But thanks all the same. Just put a pic out of a 1980 P that I believe is a ddo and reverse has all the markings as such. But I'm no expert.

 

Environmental damage. There are no "markings" around the letting, just mottled staining.
