Ok really really trying to figure this doubling thing by eye. So here is what I got. Can yall please give me your best educated opinions? I say that this isleaning towards being a DD. I am trying to apply what I have read as far as DD specifications. So, am I right? Or am I once again fooled by the cunning MD? Lol. I am trying is all I can claim. P. S. Cut me some slack on the pics. Doing best I can. Oh and there is a slight rotation of reverse.
Your pictures look pretty good but no DDO or DDR. And no MD either. This looks like a crisp strike to me. About the only thing that looks doubled is the tail of the 9. But the extra thickness is probably just the actual design.
There are a few very minor DDO's for 68. From your photos I can't tell if there is DDD. Doubling on all sides of the devices. If you can see any separation lines in hand then I would just try to match it to one of examples on VV. Using the die markers provided.
See what you mean about the G, but notice two things, the lower curve of the G shows flat, shelf-like doubling inside the curve and also on the lower curve of the O. Also, there is faint "shadowing" doubling around some of the letters, an indication that the die is wearing out.
