Hello all! I'm newer to this and trying to learn as much as possible, and the collection I was recently given was collected for the years and never checked for errors. I've got two war nickels that are very interesting and have something going on I can't seem to identify, so any help and opinions are greatly appreciated!
The first is a 1943S war nickel. I realize this isn't the mint mark for the 3/2 nickel, however, there is something under the 3 (looks very much like a 2, but I know better now than to be that hopeful!). Any ideas? Additionally, there is some major clashing going on on Jefferson's neck. It looks like letter clashing, perhaps from monticello on the reverse, but I'd like to get second opinions. Again, any and all help needed/wanted and thank you!
