I've been trying to figure out what this coin is exactly. I'm not even sure which side is the obverse. I'd assume the side with the dates is the obverse but who knows. Anyone have any ideas? Bill
Ford It has to be a medal, the one side is Thomas Edison, he had his Lab in Menlo Park NJ. It says Henry Ford museum so it must be from there too. Tony
I would guess a souvenir medal/token/coin from the Henry Ford Museum which is in Greenfield Village in Dearborn MI. I was there as a youngster and this rings a bell as far as the location. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Stephen Alpert's guide to identification and values of United States exonumia (1992) classifies this type of piece under the Chapter 25 heading of "Famous People". Edison is listed under subcategory "B" (Ford is not specifically listed), and this piece would then appear to fall under classification "5" - Miscellaneous modern pieces. Value range given is .10 to .25.

The Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield village(a community of restored buildings) are in Deerborn Mich. I've been there twice. Several of Edisons labs have been relocated to or replicated in the village. Looks like a souvenir to me. http://www.thehenryford.org/village/edisonatwork/menlo_lab/default.asp
Henry Ford and thomas edison were great friends.they often went on camping excursions together. They were two great men who played together, persued natural truths together.
