    Hi everybody

I have a 1898 Helvetia 20 Francs. It had been made into a necklace years ago by my uncle. There is a ring of gold with 4 C-shaped braces holding the coin in place. The clips on the obverse are not attached to the coin, but on the reverse they are attached with a spot of gold. How do I remove the coin without damage, or should I just leave it as is.

    Thanks, Mike

I would leave it as it is. Removal will forever be detectable and leave damage.
