My son has been collecting coins since he was 5 years old. mostly limited edition collections that you buy from the bank or post office in various parts of the world for special occasions ie. olympic games etc. A few weeks ago he was playing around and found an old coin 1752 Franc with the following inscription: TU DOMINE SPES MEA 1752 ...FRANC.GRIS. A.GERI (ER or BR kind of worn). REX How much is this coin worth?

If genuine, a lot. But the odds are very good it's a fake. There are probably a thousand times, maybe 10,000 times, more fakes of that coin out there than there are genuine examples.

You probably make around 100 people that have asked about that coin here on this forum alone in the past 7 years or so. Every single one of them had a fake.

But post a pic of the coin and we'll have a look for ya.
