Howdy... my dad past away in august and we are goin thru his stuff,my mom has these picture sets and we need some help ..where do we look to price them edited
They were very expensive sets, commonly sold by Sears. Usually the coins are only worth the silver values (war nickels) and many of the coins are commonly polished. I can't tell if yours are cleaned or not. But, nominal value
We really can't talk buying or selling on this forum but you should hang them on the wall and enjoy them. Not much value.
I have a few WWII framed coins hanging the on wall by my desk. Occasionally I turn on some WWII music, look at them, and think of my Dad.
Items of this sort are much more memorabilia than actual collectables. Broken out of the sets, they would not have a large value above the face value. Kept in the sets they could provide nice memories for your family. I would split them up among family members. Otherwise, the idea of looking them up on e-bay has merit, but remember it isn't easy or free to sell things on e-bay and that is a retail price while a dealer will offer you only about half of that.
Post 1 was edited by the mods. One other thing about these. Some sets have the coins glued in place. They may have to be cleaned up.
