I have a token and I don't really know what and if it worth what? I really would like to no were it came from?
It appears to be a Civil War Token (CWT) of some kind. I don't collect tokens, so you'll have to wait for someone to chime in who does. Chris
During the Civil War there was a serious shortage of small change, and many private companies and organizations produced tokens with patriotic slogans, which were used in lieu of official money. There were various versions of the legend "The Federal Union Must Be Preserved" which appears on yours, and both the Indian Head obverse, and the horse & rider reverse were common, sometimes appearing together and sometimes with different opposite sides. Search "Civil War Tokens" on EBay to see a number of examples. Sometimes the Heritage Auctions site also has examples. CWTs are heavily collected. Although most were produced in the North, extolling the union, there are examples from the Confederacy.
I agree it appears to be a civil war token, Very cool design. I have a few and have paid between $8 and $25 for the ones I have bought over the years. Hate to say it but I have no clue what they are worth.
