Found this mixed in with someones collection that I bought and was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about it. I really don't know much about errors. The rim is kinda smashed downward and forms almost an hourglass shape around the coin instead of the usual raised rim(if that makes any sense). You can kinda see it in the pics but my picture taking skills suck.

Now that one appears to be a railroad rim - partial collar strike.

After a second look, I'll correct myself - encased coin. The edge pic had me there for a second. But the flattened area on both obv and rev mean an encased coin.

It's an encased cent (lucky token cent). It's not a mint error.
