I recieved these two coins after the passing of my grandfather, and I have no idea what they are, and don't have any local resources to help me out. So, I need some help identifying these coins (or what I presume are coins). Hope I'm posting in the right forum on this site. Thanks.

You have posted your coins & questions in the correct forum. There are a few experts on these type of coins that may visit & comment on your coins here. Just give them some time to see your post.

The first coin appears thick and both look like Indian coins to me (but I am not an expert on Indian coins) It would probably be good to know the approximate weights & dimensions for your two coins.

I'll let you know if I find your coins in my books tonight.

Thank you for the quick response. Yes the first coin is quite thick and rather heavy given its size. I'll work on the weights and dimensions, and post them when I have the results.

Indian state coins, very interesting. I really appreciate the initial identification. Is there a way of identifying them to a specific time period or "state"? Basically, a way to uniquely identify each coin? Thanks again to everyone posting here and helping me out.
