I thought it was a bond but was unsure as to what type? do you know if it is savings or possibly treasuary? I know it is for a 20 year period LOL
It is a lottery bond. The table of redemption is at the bottom on the back. It is probably a savings bond as most lottery bonds were. It is different from the war bonds issued by the soviets during this period, however. These have military vignettes on the face. Lottery bonds were commonly issued in Eastern Europe and parts of Asia. They offered pay outs on redemption higher than the nominal interest rate to a limited number of holders.
Not really, I will on the other hand buy anything I think is a good deal. And I thought this was a good deal, seems like it so far.
