Recently picked up 6 silver Canadian dimes. Years are 1960, 62, 64, 65, 66, and a 1968. The first 5 I KNOW are 80% silver, but the 1968 I am having some trouble with. I cannot tell if it is 50% silver. I know that some 1968's were clad, and the rest 50%. I did a "bounce test" and it does sound different than a standard clad Roosevelt dime, but it doesn't have the same *ting* sound that a 40% silver Kennedy has. Maybe it is just the size? Is there any for sure way to tell?

    Thanks!

Not sure how much help this is but the silver should weigh 2.3328 g and the nickel one 2.3300 g.

Sadly I do not have a gram-scale. Hmm... maybe I could make a trek to the coinstore on Monday.

Try using a magnet, if the coin sticks to a magnet it isn't silver.

I will try this, thanks! Now, to just find me a magnet...
