Theodosius I ROMAN EMPIRE BEAUTIFUL-GREAT COIN! A65 Hi I need help with this coin. I am compleatly out of my area and do not know if this coin is worth buying. Above is what seller is calling the coin Im realy stuck on this one Thanks so much Alan
Looks like from the Constantine era, but I'm too lazy to actually attribute it. It's genuine, but I wouldn't pay more than $5 for it. hope that's what you're looking for stainless
You have the reverse upside down. It looks like it's a coin of Constantius II, thought it could be Constans. Unfotunately, the part of the legend that would confirm which it is is off the flan. The mintmark is silimarly off (it should be on the bottom of your reverse). Unfortunately, this means that we can't really give you much more of a specific identification.
I actually just noticed that this coin is currently for sale on Ebay, misattributed as a coin of Theodosius. Like Stainless said, you shouldn't pay more than like $5 for that coin, which means you shouldn't bother with the $10 the seller wants.
Well the Emperor Constantius promises 30 years. I like the desert brown patina of the coin. The ID of the coin seems to be Sear 3988/ RIC 74 of the Emperor Constantius II (357 AD ?). $10 would be top dollar, like the others $3 to $5 is reasonable. Did you buy it ?
Hello No I passed, I was just thinking about getting into this type of coin. There just seems so much to know, and I'm not sure if I want to start learning about other coins rite now. Alan
