I have a 2003 silver proof set. It seems the Maine quarter has 7 rays or light coming from the light house. it is either a struck through dropped filling or struck through misc. (greese filing etc..)
Upon close inspection the area in question looks pitted and pushed in to the coin.
Any suggestions or help would be appreciated

    Also -
I have a 1941 silver washington quarter that seems to have been rolled down to a nickels diameter. this caused the edges to become raised and made it look like a checker.

1972 Lincoln Penny - dont know what is going on with it - looks like it was partially dipped in acid - but the obv and rev have different markings. Brockage?

The Maine quarter looks like a possible die chip to me.

The Washington quarter is an example of a "spooned" coin. I haven't done that since I was a kid :D

As for the cent - hard to say - it kind of looks like a lamination - but it's tough to say based on the pic.

I recently bought a 2009 Lincoln Proof set from the Mint. The log cabin cent has a die crack above the word Liberty. It extends from the back of the hairline, in a direction that is halfway to the rim of the cent. Do you know if there is a premium for this error coin? Thank you. My browser is firefox and will only allow pics that are 750K. My detailed picture is 2.1 MB.

Read this ariticle - by Ken Potter. If you use photobucket it will not matter what the size of the pictures are. Upload them to photobucket, generate html links and imbed them in a post here. I would really like to see this coin. Thanks.

I am not sure about the Maine quarter as the picture doesn't make what we need to see quite as good as it needs to be.

AND....you will very seldom hear me say this but the silver quarter really is a "spooned" coin:) There are some of the old timers here that will know why I phrased it this way:)

    Have Fun,

    Bill
