How do I know if my coin is KM #1253.1 (small denomination numerals) or KM #1253.2 (large denomination numerals).

I tried to identify but the pictures in the Krause are a little blur.

    Here is the coin.

From the Krause pictures it appears that there is a greater separation between the "10 RIALS" legend and the building on KM#1253.2, the "large" numeral coin, than on KM#1253.1, the "small" numeral coin, so I would guess that you have the large type.

Is the edge reeded? Earlier 10 rials are listed with reeded edges, and the first mention of a plain edge is for the small number version, which implies that the large number type may have reeded edges.

BTW, it's always best to specify the country as well as the KM# if it is not apparent from the picture. There are at least half a dozen countries using the "rial" spelling/denomination.
