I picked up this amongst a load at market. I think it is Korean, but I can't nail down exactly which one in Krause, which is all I have to go on. Can someone put me right? Does it look genuine?

Yes, Korean, standard Sang Pyong Tong Bo obverse. The casting is a lot cruder than normal, however, which is suspicious. I have an online meeting in a few minutes but will try to look this up later for exact details.

All right, I'm back. This is a Value Two coin (seen from the numeral two at the bottom of the reverse, and also from the diameter). The mintmark, on the top of the reverse, is "Chin", short for Chinhyulch'ong, the Charity Office in Seoul. In Mandel's catalogue, this is type 17.16A.0, minted 1742-1752. Not sure about genuineness or not- the casting is rather crude, but I'm not an expert in this series so I don't know how good the quality control was for these coins. Doesn't seem to be rare, even assuming it's genuine.

That is great - thanks! I can now label it correctly and stash it away.
