I have a handful of Mexican Pesos which I am not sure if they are worth anything. There are 5 1000 peso , 13 100 peso, 6 500 peso, 1 50 peso. 3 $1 peso, 1 $2 peso and 2 $5 peso coins.
Just wanted to know in general, not looking based on quality so much because they are well circulated. I have had them for years and just figured they are worth a few bucks.
In circulated condition, they are are only worth .15 to maybe $1 each, depending on year of mint and condition.
I saw a few 1000 pesos coins that sold for around $5 on ebay, but I didn't think they were worth that much. Plus they looked to be in the same condition as the ones I have.
You should have posted in the world coins part since many of us who focus on world coins hang out in that area. Anyway, the 1,000 and 500 you might be able to sell for a dollar if you're lucky, but the rest you probably couldn't sell. None are rare or really worth anything. They just may have value for someone completing a set.
Thanks for the reply. I figured they aren't worth anything much, I just have no interest in them as I collect american silver coins. I may throw them up on ebay to see what I can get for them as a lot.
I have several of these that someone found they stashed away. They got them when they visited Mexico 20 years ago. I have a couple of the $500 and $100 peso coins. They also have a Riverboat token from some closed Missippi Riverboat.
You might have luck that way. Be sure to list in the description what year and denomination each coin is, and don't charge too much. It's so frustrating when you're looking for a certain date and the seller doesn't tell you what the dates are. You're most likely to sell it if people know what they're getting. If I was selling this I might start the bidding at a dollar or two, depending on what you have invested in it.
I got them from my grandmother years a go for when she used to go to Cancun for vacation. So if I get anything its all gravy.
